Mya's Gourmet Popcorn
Mya’s Gourmet Popcorn, a 2023 Spring SEED Grant recipient, has blossomed into a local favorite. What began as a student entrepreneurship project has evolved into a thriving business renowned for its gluten-free flavors like Totally Twix and Strawberry Delight. With a $9,000 SEED Grant investment in a commercial popcorn popper and cooling tray, Mya’s doubled production capacity, boosted sales, and even created 1-2 new full- or part-time jobs. Today, Mya’s has moved into a new location and is set to appear on the shelves of major grocery stores like Hy-Vee—each kernel telling a delicious story of success, innovation, and community support.
